Weddings

We went to Darren & Kelli Jenkins wedding this weekend....it was so beautiful! I don't have any pictures though because stupid me forgot to take out my memory card from the printer and bring it with me. I was so mad because it was so pretty. It sprinkled just enough during the ceremony to keep it cool, especially for the men in their suits. We got through the ceremony and got inside for the reception when it started dumping rain! But it was so pretty. People there were dancing and have a blast! It is so nice that more of our friends are getting married now, especially some of Matt's friends. For the last 2 years he has felt like he couldn't relate to any of his friends because no one else was married or had a kid. Well best of luck to you Darren and Kelli, I hope you have a blast on the honeymoon. Next up, Jud's wedding!!

Salem After 5

Well it is finally time for Salem After 5 again! I'm so excited!! First of all it is something we can do that isn't too expensive... and Carson can go and just run around! Here are a few pictures from this first Salem After 5.

Beautiful!!

Doggie Treats

Well, I went over to Debbie's house last night and helped her, Nancy, & Ginger make doggie treats! It was so much fun. We had our little assembly line going and got a whole bunch of them done. It was nice, we were getting stress out rolling and cutting and filling up trays all the while chatting our little girl talk. I think I will have to go over for this night more often, it is nice to get away from my 2 boys every once in a while and have some girl time. I think married women should do it more often. Hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Allergies, Asthma, & Babies

Well yesterday we took Carson to the doctor for his asthma and to have him tested for allergies. We thought for sure he would be allergic to something. They poked his poor little back with all these different allergies. Surprisingly he did not react to a single one of them, which is great. He does however still have asthma and we got a prescription for Singulair which controls allergies and asthma. We also went to the doctor for myself yesterday. Matt and I are going to start trying for another baby soon and I had my birth control removed yesterday. So keep your fingers crossed that it won't take too long......and hope for a girl!! :-)

Virginia Tech Remembrance

Ok, so Salem did a Virginia Tech Remembrance at the Salem Farmer's Market on the 1 year anniversary of the VT shootings. I went over to the Market early with some fellow employees to blow up balloons for people to release. I was quite surprised by all the different comments I heard on te days events. One man who came into my office said "Why is everyone wearing VT clothes today?" I proceeded to tell him it was in remembrance of the shooting victims, to which he replied "Well I'm not a Tech fan". I was a little taken aback by this. I do not consider myself a "Tech" fan either per say. I kind of just follow whoever I like at the particular time. I thought to myself, what does that have to do with anything?? This day is about the victims, and they just happen to be from VT which is close to our little town of Salem. Then I went over to the event and it really was a poor turnout. I don't know if it is because it wasn't advertised well or what, but I know we got an email at work and I didn't see very many people from the City there. It was a little disappointing. But I guess some people just want to forget it ever happened. I am not like that, most people have forgotten about 9/11, but I cannot. I lookup reminders and stories about those people all the time. I don't think we should ever forget. So I just wanted to post some pictures I took from the event and say that I miss all of the people who were killed on that day 1 year ago. After reading all your stories I feel like I know you all.

Kite Festival

Carson and I went to the Kite Festival this weekend. It was so much fun! There were a ton of people there flying their kites. There were even some HUGE kites, like this octopus in the picture above. One nice lady had a pretty big kite that she let Carson and his friend Myah touch. Carson was so excited about getting to do that. I have also posted a picture of this and one of Carson & his friend Myah playing.

New Toy

Well it's Monday again! Blah! I hate Mondays.....the weekends never seem long enough. Matt did however get me some new software to use on my photos. Here is a picture of a purple tulip I took at the Tucker's house. The new software let me create this neat picture.

Mom's birthday!

Well today is my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday mom! We were trying to figure out how old we were the other day. I know pathetic we don't ever know how old we are! We eventually figured it out and then both wished we hadn't remembered. I do think it was nice however that we were having so much fun being a mother and a grandmother that growing old doesn't seem to matter that much to us, at least enough for us not to remember how old we are. Carson is the best thing that has happened to my family. He has made my mom and I closer, and I am so happy for that because I really missed it for a while. So I just want to say I love you mom! Carson found a cat at mammaw's house last night and chased it all over, here is a picture of him and the cat after he caught up with her. And the other is a picture I took from on top of "The Hill"

My first thought for my new blog!!

Ok, so I decided to start a blog! I'm so excited! I wanted to use this blog to post some of my pictures and to keep everyone updated on how the family was doing. Carson recently turned 2 on March 3rd. I can't believe my baby is a toddler already. We are starting to get busy in the Tucker house, which is just how I like it. We have several parties & wedding to go to in the next couple of months. The picture above I took at City Hall, this little guy & mommy duck show up every spring to lay eggs. He's a handsome fellow! Till next time....
